Do we transition into blackness? Float back to our planets in the galaxy? Are our loved ones waiting for us on the other side?
Years ago, I became fascinated by the question: what happens when we die? Reading Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Afterlife by Dr Eben Alexander, alongside accounts from others who described near-death experiences, encouraged me to think differently about death. Perhaps, when my own life comes to an end, it might not be so frightening.
My spiritual work as a reader and healer for over 30 years has given me insight into what we believe, what gives us hope and how we think about our loved ones after they die.
As a psychic reader, my experiences include seeing those who have passed over. I always feel privileged to share what I see and any messages I receive. These moments often bring comfort to the people I read for. They also remind me not to leave things unsaid and to seek reconciliation where it matters.
Someone very close to me died a couple of years before I painted this artwork. Throughout the painting process, I was filled with love and joy as I remembered them.
Purple represents royalty to me. Lime green, mulberry, violet and gold are also among my favourite colours, colours worthy of a royal passage to the underworld with style.
In Wings, the wings of an angel guide us through life and watch over our transition to the afterlife. Their beautiful heart shape represents a passage held in love.
